To qualify, the banker must be 45 years or younger with a minimum of 5 years in banking and made significant contributions to their bank and/or the banking industry. The nominee must work for an LBA member bank. Up to five young bankers will be recognized.
Each year at the annual conference, a new slate of officers and council members are elected by the conference attendees to serve for the upcoming year.
365 to Rich Bank Day is a great program for high school seniors to spend a day shadowing a banker. The last two weeks of October are designated as the time frame for the 365 to Rich Bank Day. The purpose is to introduce banking as a career option and to provide financial literacy resources to the student.
As an extension of the Louisiana Bankers Education Council, LBEC Ambassadors will promote financial literacy and support future banker development. Ambassadors are LBA member bank employees who want to network with Louisiana bankers and be involved in the Louisiana banking industry.
Since 1994, LBEC and the State Treasurer's Office has co-sponsored and organized an educational program where banks assist elementary schools promote financial education throughout the state.
Simply Banking is the banking study guide designed for high school and middle school students. There is a teacher version with benchmarks, and a separate student version. Both are PDF files that easily download in minutes.
The LBA Leadership School is growing our next generation of leaders. Each participant completes the Hogan Management Assessment prior to the start of the program and receives a one-on-one coaching session with a leadership development facilitator.
