Banks Across the State Participate in 2nd Annual LBEC-sponsored 365 to Rich Bank Shadow Day

High school seniors across the state were nominated and chosen to be a part of the second annual 365 to Rich Bank Shadow Day, held throughout the month of October. The statewide program aims to introduce high school seniors to banking as a career option as well as to offer financial literacy resources. Seniors who are chosen to be a part of the program spend a day at the bank where they tour each department and learn how the work relates to the overall mission of the bank. Students also have the opportunity to visit with bank executives to learn about banking career options and how financial literacy is vital to their future. As part of the program, students are also given the option to write an essay that will be judged among the others across the state, with one student being awarded an iPad. The name, 365 to Rich, comes from the actions that take place after the shadow day when the student will receive a daily text for 365 days on ways to become “rich” in all ways such as money, work, knowledge, service, relationships, etc.
