The LBA Government Relations & Grassroots Council (GRGC) will meet at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 20 at
the Baton Rouge Marriott Hotel to review and adopt the state legislative agenda for the 2022 State Regular
Legislative Session. Stephen David, President and CEO of Peoples Bank & Trust in New Roads, is the LBA GRGC
State Issues Chairman and will lead the discussion of state issues, along with LBA staff.
During the meeting State Representative John Stefanski (R-Crowley), who chairs the House and Governmental
Affairs Committee, will brief the group about the redistricting special session that will occur in February.
We also will review federal issues of importance and get feedback from you on policy positions and priorities for
2022. Brent Vidrine, Chairman, President and CEO of Bank of Sunset & Trust Company, is the LBA GRGC Federal
Issues Chairman (as well as the LBA Board Chairman Elect) and will lead the discussion on federal issues, along
with LBA staff. Our federal issues discussion will also be helpful in planning our next LBA Washington Visit.
Additionally, we will give an update on LBA grassroots efforts and LBA PACs, among other things. Ryan
Kilpatrick, EVP, Chief Brand and Communications Officer with Origin Bank, is the LBA GRGC Grassroots
Chairman.
