Four officers receive 2009 Louisiana Bankers Association Law Enforcement Officer Of the Year Awards

BATON ROUGE—FBI Special Agent Tim Denny, Assistant U.S. Attorney Mark Miller, Assistant U.S. Attorney Brian Marcelle and Det. Gerard R. Kuhn of New Orleans Police Department received 2009 LBA Law Enforcement Officer of the Year Awards at the LBA Annual Security Meeting, which was held September 15-16 at the Lafayette Hilton.
“We are pleased to present these officers with these awards. A good working relationship between bankers and law enforcement is a vital part of our business,” said Robert T. Taylor, LBA chief executive officer.
Special Agent Denny, Assistant U.S. Attorney Miller, Assistant U.S. Attorney Marcelle and Det. Kuhn of were nominated by Charles Montelaro of IBERIABANK. In listing the details of their outstanding service, Montelaro said, “We are nominating these individuals for outstanding work in the investigation, prosecution, conviction and death sentence of bank robber/murderer John Wayne Johnson.”
Each year, LBA recognizes outstanding law enforcement officers who assist banks with the investigation of financial crimes. The people are nominated by bankers from across the state.
