In a statewide effort to help combat crime and protect consumers, the LBA participates in the Thumbprint Signature Program. Any individual (non customer) who wishes to cash a check at a participating financial institution or retailer is asked to apply their right thumb to an inkless fingerprinting device and place their thumbprint between the memo and signature lines of the check. If fraudulent activity does occur, law enforcement agencies will have these thumbprints as evidence to use in apprehending those responsible.

The Senior Housing Crime Prevention Foundation (SHCPF) is a national non-profit organization that serves as a risk-free, profitable conduit for banks to use to fulfill their federally mandated Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) requirements. The Foundation’s mission is to provide safe and secure living environments for our nation’s senior housing residents through the operation of the nationally-acclaimed Senior Crimestoppers program in each participating bank’s CRA assessment area. Each year, LBA's Human Resource Peer Group sponsors the LBA Salary and Benefits Survey, a compilation of current salaries and benefits for common positions within Louisiana’s financial institutions. The survey can be a vital tool when determining competitive pay and benefits for employee recruitment and retention. The survey includes an average bonus, average salary, minimum salary and maximum salary for each position. These positions are categorized four different ways: asset size, metropolitan area, return on assets and return on equity.
